Remote Control
Remote Control is the server-side configuration that allows Lumentrace Client instances to connect to the main Lumentrace app.
Enabling Remote Control
Open Setup → Open Settings... → Remote Control on the server machine.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Remote Control toggle | Enable or disable client connections |
| Name | Server name shown to clients during discovery (default: "Lumentrace Server") |
| Max Clients | Maximum number of simultaneous client connections (1–64) |
| Password | Optional shared password — clients must enter this to connect. Leave blank for no authentication |
| NIC | Network interface to broadcast on — select the interface connected to the same network as the clients |
| Video Preset | Video stream quality sent to clients: Low / Mid / High / Extreme |
Changes take effect after saving.
Network port
The port used for client connections is fixed and does not need to be configured manually. Clients discover the port automatically via mDNS on the same subnet, or you can give operators the server IP address for manual connection.
Video quality
The Video Preset controls the resolution and bitrate of the camera feeds streamed to clients. Lower presets reduce network bandwidth and CPU load at the cost of image quality. For tracking purposes, Mid or High is generally sufficient.
